The village of the abbots of Ainay
From the 10th century to 1789 the lordship belonged to the abbey of Ainay in Lyon: the abbots’ castle, the belfry tower and the church of Saint-Pierre bear witness to it. The Baboin gate has been a listed historic monument since 1934. The town covers 5.94 km², between 179 and 311 metres.
