Art et Carrelage: a site rebuilt from scratch.

A tiler in Chessy, a 2018 WordPress site illustrated with stock photos. What we changed, and what we measured.

2 min read

Staged scene: the Art et Carrelage site on a tablet resting on tiles, “Carreleur à Chessy, autour de Lyon.”

The starting point

The former site dated from 2018. It showed mostly stock photos, far from the craftsman’s real work. On a phone, its main content took 9.2 seconds to appear.

What we did

  • An identity in three colours, chalk, ink and graphite, and two typefaces, Cabinet Grotesk and Boska.
  • A site rebuilt from scratch on his real jobs.
  • A space where the craftsman publishes his own jobs, live at once.
  • A WebGL gallery to browse the work.
  • A quote module.

What we measured

On 12 October 2026, with Google Lighthouse 13.5.0 on its mobile profile (simulated slow 4G), we compared the former site and the new one.

  • Main content shown on a phone: 9.2 s before, 3.2 s after, 2.9 times faster.
  • Page weight: 1,815 KiB before, 735 KiB after, 2.5 times lighter.

It is a measurement of a single day: Lighthouse results vary a little from one run to the next. We do not measure calls or quote requests yet, so we announce none.

Where the site stands

The site is in preview today, before its launch. Its case page shows its identity, its palette and its screens.
